Hood River is one of the best locations for your retreat this winter. It has world-class resorts, countless luxurious restaurants, bars, accommodation and miles of scenic trails that you and your loved ones can enjoy. If you are headed to Hood River for your vacation this winter, have a go at any of the fun activities below all the while enjoying the sheer beauty of the place.

  • Play in The Snow

What’s a winter vacation without snow? Hop onto a chairlift at Mt. Hood Meadows, which has 1,700 vertical feet of terrain for skiers and boarders. There is also the Cooper Spur Mountain Resort, which is very family-friendly and offers tubing and beginner-friendly lift-accessed slopes. So if you’re bringing along the whole crew for the holiday, visiting this resort in particular won’t be a bad idea; Little John Sno-Park and White River Sno-Park come close too, so explore them if you can.

  • Go Snowshoeing

Hood River has some great shops where you can rent snowshoes and anything else you need for a hike in the soft snow. Get your gear and head up Highway 35 where many options for snowshoeing fun await. There also many trail options that offer spectacular views of Mount Hood, Mount St. Helens, Mount Adams, and Mount Rainier.

  • Go Cycling

Hood River is an excellent base camp for avid cyclists all year-round. You can take cycling hikes along the Mosier Twin Trails, Lower Deschutes River Trail, the Klickitat River Trail and lots more. We advise that you, however, avoid mountain biking when the trails are muddy.

  • See Bald Eagles

In the winter months, bald eagles gather along the Columbia River tributaries where they feast on salmon. You can use this experience to grace your winter visit to Hood River by hiking along the Klickitat river and you will often spot the eagle within the first few miles. You can also save time by biking instead, the short Balfour Loop Trail.

  • Book A Spa Day

After all these activities, a great way to wind down is by booking a relaxing massage band spa day with Spa Remedease. It is Hood River’s very own resident spa and massage parlor and is unrivaled in the whole state. You can book alone or make a fun family or friends’ day out of it.

Whichever one you choose, Spa Remedease is a friendly, cozy place that is sure to meet all your massage and relaxations needs. All their massage therapists are talented and experienced, so why not book a spa session with them today?
