Did you know that November 23rd is set apart yearly to celebrate Doctor Who? This year will make it the 7th annual WHO Wants to Race 1 Mile, 5K, 10K, 13.1, 26.2!
These fantastic Doctor Who-inspired races are well-loved and enjoyed by many, and this year’s event will be no different. And it’s less than a month away!
The race helps create autism awareness, and at least 15% of each registration will go to the Doug Flutie Jr. foundation for autism, whose mission is to help people and families affected by autism live life to the fullest.
Races can be completed anytime in November, but it will be preferable on the 23rd, the date marked for the seventh annual Doctor Who celebration.
1mile, 5K, 10K, 13.1. 26.2 virtual races are also available, and you can pick a distance you will be able to complete and take part in it. It is suitable for all ages.
If you are wondering what a virtual race is and how you can participate from Hood River, Portland, or anywhere, it is a race that can be run (or walked) from any location.
You can jog, walk or run on the road, trail, treadmill, etc., and run with your group at your own pace and timing. When you complete the distance, your medal will be shipped to you!
Each virtual 5K, 10K, half marathons, etc., benefits a different charity. More than $892,045 has been raised for charities from various running events. So, join us and make a difference by registering and participating in this event.
The registration fee is $18 and includes a medal, bib, and shipping; shipment of medals will begin in mid-October. You can also join the Facebook of over 23,000 members dedicated to this event!
