The Hood River Fruit Loop offers wine, cider, fruits, vegetables, food, and much more. The farm-fresh goodies continue well into the fall at several stands like Smiley’ Red Barn, Pearl’s Place, and many more. Make sure you taste what each stand offers!
- Drink a Grass of Cider
There is nothing more refreshing like drinking a glass of crisp apple cider, the merry sounds of Hood River all around you. One of the region’s best ciders is the Golden Row Cider.
The Fox-Tail Cider and Distillery is a great place for excellent drinks too, and we highly recommend you take a visit there.
- See Fall Foliage
The Columbia River Gorge is surging with stunning fall color throughout September, October, and sometimes even early November. Take advantage of this natural fall foliage exhibition and go on a fun hike, passing through the mixture of red, yellow, orange, and brown leaves.
- Wine Tasting
Wine tasting is a terrific fall activity and something synonymous with Hood River. There are a few wineries along the Hood River Fruit Loop, so you have many options on where to stop for a sip or two.
- Running a Half or Full Marathon
Have a go at the Columbia Gorge Marathon and Half Marathon, an activity-packed race that goes from the Historic Columbia River Highway up to Rowena Viewpoint. While there, relax and take in the scenic views the Columbia River Gorge offers.
