February 16, 2022The Hood River County Sunshine Mill will be hosting the “Drive-Up Movie for Valentine’s Day” at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, February 14. Dinner can be delivered to your car if you want!
The movie chosen for this month’s pairing is “The Notebook.” It has become one of the most successful romantic movies of all time, both in popularity with audiences and financially, earning over $115 million at the box office.
The movie follows two lovers, Allie Hamilton (Rachel McAdams) and Noah Calhoun (Ryan Gosling), who are separated by social status but find their way back to each other seven years later after taking different paths in life.
The Sunshine Mill Dinner and a Movie event is a monthly tradition hosted by the Sunshine Mill Board of Directors to raise funds for community projects.
The dinner, which will be served from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., will cost $30 per person. Expect tasty treats like the Baldwin Lasagna with grilled garlic bread! And for dessert, there’s sweet Dulce de Leche cheesecake!
“We try to pick a variety of movies that appeal to younger and older audiences,” states Sunshine Mill Community Board Member, Evelyn Luft. “Some of the movies we have shown in the past include ‘The Help,’ ‘Twilight,’ and more.”
The Sunshine Mill Dinner and a Movie tradition has provided over $22,000 for community projects since its inception in 2009, including new picnic tables for the county parks system and scholarship funds for local high school seniors.
“We want to thank the community for their past and continued support of these events,” says Luft.
