Mount Hood is a beautiful mountain that can be seen for miles around. You can go camping, fishing, hiking and experience nature at its finest when you visit Mount Hood. We at Spa Remedease understand the draw of Mount Hood and advise that you visit as it is just a 20 minutes’ drive from Hood River. You could see any of the following places while there.

  • Hood Scenic Byway

This is one of Oregon’s most scenic landmarks and offers exposure to one of the most stunning sceneries in the state. You’ll move south from the beautiful greenery of Hood River Valley and approach the alpine environs of Mount Hood. There is the Timberline Lodge at 6,000ft elevation, and the temperate rainforests along with the villages of Mount Hood. You can then return to Eastern Multnomah County and the cities of Woodville, Troutdale and the gateway to the Gorge.

  • Clackamas River Recreation Area

This recreational area is centered around the Clackamas River and located in Estacada. It is great for fishing, white water rafting, kayaking and more. There’s a white-water festival which holds here each May and it is the largest white-water rafting event on the west coast.

  • Sandy Ridge, Mt. Hood Skibowl

You can mountain bike in the shadow of Mount Hood here. The Mount Hood National Forest is home to about 140 miles of bike trails and multi-use trails that are open to bikes. Sandy Ridge is to the west of this and contains 15 miles of flow single-track that is accessible in the winter. On Mount Hood itself, you can check out 40 miles of life serviced riding, a free ride park, and a skills part at the Mount Hood Skibowl.

  • Wildwood Recreation Site

The Wildwood Recreation Site is home to the Cascade Streamwatch Trail and Wildwood Wetlands Trail. Here, you get a chance to explore natural stream and wetland ecosystems and also observe fish in an underwater fish viewing chamber. There are also fully accessible trails and places for a family picnic. You also have access to Salmon River from here.

  • Timberline Lodge & Ski Area

Timberline offers the longest ski season in North America and above 1000 acres of hiking trails. It was built in 1937 and offers great views of Mount Hood, intimate accommodations and fine dining. It sits at the 6000-foot level of Mount Hood.
