Travel can be fun and you can have some of your best experiences while exploring other places. Sadly, due to the coronavirus pandemic, travel has been put on hold for health safety reasons.

Don’t despair though, you can use this time to make plans for trips in the future when it is safe to do. We at Spa Remedease would like you to know that we are with you in these times and that you are not alone. While you research and make plans for when you can travel, here are some tips from us on standard safety procedures for when you travel.

  • Make Copies of Travel Documents

Always have a backup of important travel documents. Scan them into an online storage space, email them to yourself and make as many photocopies as you can. Keep those copies separate from the originals in case they get missing or stolen. It never hurts to be too prepared.

  • Get Immunized

Find out what immunizations you’ll need for the location you’ll be visiting and get them from your doctor. A medical safety kit and bug repellent is not a bad idea when going on your trip too.

  • Get Travel Insurance

Travel insurance is a necessity for your vacation to anywhere! Whether you’ll be staying for a week or longer, choose from the widely available number of insurance plans and find the best plans for you.

  • Watch Your Valuables

We mean gadgets like your smartphone, camera, drones, tablets or laptops. Keep a close watch on them at all times, especially in transit. You should also try to be as discreet with them as you can.

  • Safely Store Your Cash

If you happen to have a lot of cash on you, it’s best to have them in multiple places. Keep most of your cash stored in your hotel safe and still have an emergency stash somewhere like in your luggage. Avoid using ATMs at night and don’t count your money in front of large crowds of people.

  • Blend In

Try to blend in as much as possible and follow the local custom and rules. Be respectful of the laws and customs of the places that you visit. Using apps to find your direction is also better than whipping out large maps on the street.

  • Stay Alert

Trust your gut instincts and use your common sense. If something feels wrong, it most likely is, so pay attention. Be aware of your surroundings and don’t let yourself get too distracted. Best of luck!
